Once Human is an open-world action game, where players must try to survive in a hostile apocalyptic environment with danger lurking around every corner. The game was developed by NetEase, one of the most experienced companies in this kind of game, which has releases such as Life After, Rules of Survival or Badlanders on its extensive record.
The first thing you can do when you start playing is to create and customize your character's appearance. You can choose whether you want to create a man or woman, and you can even customize their face down to the smallest detail. You can change the height of their eyebrows, jaw width, lip thickness, hair color, etc. Once you've finished creating your avatar, the Once Human (Project: EOE) story will start.
The adventure starts with your character waking up in a mysterious scientific complex that they have no memory of. Gradually, you will discover that the world has descended into complete chaos, and mysterious dark creatures roam around freely. Luckily, right from the start, you'll have access to a good arsenal of weapons that you can use to defend yourself. The first weapon you find will be a pistol, but it won't be long before you add an assault rifle to your inventory. Bit by bit, you'll go about finding and making many more firearms.
As is usually the case in most sandbox or open-world games, you'll have to do so much more in Once Human than just fight monsters. Having a good set of tools is as important as having a good arsenal. You'll need picks to mine rocks and minerals, axes for chopping wood, and many other materials to be able to create all kinds of useful objects on the different workbenches. You'll even be able to build campfires and tents to rest anywhere in the environment.
Similar to Life After, Once Human starts with a pretty linear first chapter, where you'll be introduced to the story and some of the main characters, after which the story will open up, giving you many more possibilities. Once you land on the game's second island, you can really start enjoying the open world experience in an environment full of life, but also danger.
Download Once Human if you're looking for a new free action sandbox that, following in the style of all NetEase games, has incredible visuals and a very fun gameplay. Although you need an Internet connection, you can enjoy the story as a solo player, so you won't have to depend on other players to advance.
